Includes:
- 1 trip through the course (1.5-2.5 hours)
- Safety equipment rental
- Training (20-30 min. session)
- Constant access to trained personnel if needed
- Breathtaking views of the zoo from above
Course Highlights
- 40 challenges including 15 zip lines
- 1.5 – 2.5 hour trip through the course
- Half of the course is in the forest and the other half is above the zoo
- Once up the first ladder, you truly travel tree-to-tree until you touch down to the ground on the final zip
- Participants travel over 3,000′ on zip lines alone (15 total)
- 2 zip lines travel over the lake (one over 600′ long)
- Zip by animals such as Tapirs, Toucans, Kangaroos, Monkeys, Orangutans, Emus, and Siamangs
- At several points along the “Zoofari,” one can choose between two short diversion routes consisting of; easier or harder challenges
Course Restrictions
- 54″ + tall
- 8 years+
- 250lb max weight limit
- Chaperone may be required (see Chaperone rules below)
Tip!
- Arrive 15-30 minutes before your session start time.
- All participants must complete a waiver
- All those under 18 years old must have their waiver completed by a parent or legal guardian
- Fill out your waiver in advance and bring it with you to expedite your check-in process
Chaperone Rules
- Participating Chaperone required for ages 8-15
- Chaperone is anyone ages 18+
- Chaperone/Child ratio is 1:5
- $60 per person
- Ages 16-17 must have a Chaperone on the premise of Treetop Zoofari or the Metro Richmond Zoo at all times while a course
- Don’t have the required participating chaperone?
- Schedule a Treetop Zoofari Employee as a chaperone for $100
- Must call 5 days in advance
- This option is not guaranteed and subject to staff availability.
What to wear
- Closed-toe athletic footwear required (No sandals, flip-flops, crocs, slippers, etc.)
- Comfortable/athletic clothing
- Camera with security straps welcome
- Small, lightweight bags or fanny packs welcome
- Long hair must be pulled back
- Sunscreen and bug repellent recommended
